Nicole Valcour, RN

Nurse Case Manager

Nicole has had a long career in supporting the housing insecure and vulnerable populations around the world. A Vermont native, she earned her RN degree and BA in Anthropology at the University of Vermont. She later studied at the University of Hawaii, where she earned a master’s degree in medical anthropology and a master’s degree in public health epidemiology.

After 10 years in Hawaii working as an HIV specialty nurse, Nicole moved home to Vermont in 2015.

Before joining the clinic, Nicole served as the Nurse Manager at Safe Harbor Clinic, a National Healthcare for the Homeless clinic and satellite of the Community Health Center of Burlington. There, she helped establish nursing policies and procedures with homeless health, based on National healthcare for the Homeless Guidelines and coordinated health education outreach to Burlington shelters.

“No one is homeless because it’s easy,” Nicole says. “No one is poor because it’s easy.”

This spring, Nicole earned a Doctor of Nurse Practice degree from the University of Vermont.
