Beloved Bob Dylan Contest Returns, Raises Nearly $2,500 for People’s Health & Wellness Clinic

Berlin, VT – A cherished Vermont tradition made a triumphant return on April 12 as the Great Green Mountain Bob Dylan Wannabe Contest once again brought music, community, and purpose to the Capital City Grange—raising nearly $2,500 to support the People’s Health & Wellness Clinic (PHWC) in Barre.

After a multi-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this long-running event was joyfully revived with a crowd of over 150 attendees and 12 talented performers delivering heartfelt Bob Dylan covers.

“As the man himself once said, ‘I’ll let you be in my dream if I can be in yours,’” said Daniel Barlow, PHWC executive director. “Thanks to this support, everyone who participated is now part of our dream—a dream of a community where no one is denied healthcare because they can’t afford it.”

Event co-organizer Bronwyn Fryer said the turnout and talent exceeded expectations: “Bob Dylan’s music speaks to justice, compassion, and truth—all values that align beautifully with the mission of PHWC. It was amazing to see so many people come together to celebrate that spirit and support such an important cause.”

Co-organizer Ginny Sassaman added: “This wasn’t just a fun night of music—it was a powerful reminder of what the community can do when we show up for each other. We’re thrilled with the response and are already looking forward to next year.”

The full event was filmed by Orca Media and is available to watch online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tW45Tf3uWA

Organizers are committed to making the Bob Dylan Wannabe Contest an annual tradition for PHWC, using the power of music to support the health and well-being of Central Vermonters.
