Clinic Office Manager
People's Health & Wellness Clinic (PHWC) – Barre, Vermont
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Salary: $54,000 annually
Benefits: Health benefit up to $9,000 annually, generous paid time off, 10 paid holidays, a two-week clinic closure between Christmas and New Year's, and employer 401(k) contributions after one year of employment.

The People's Health & Wellness Clinic is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Clinic Office Manager to become the welcoming face and operational heart of our clinic.
Every day, PHWC provides free medical, dental, mental health, and care coordination services to Vermonters who face barriers to accessing healthcare. Our patients include working families, older adults, uninsured individuals, members of the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants and refugees, and others who may have nowhere else to turn for care.
This is more than an administrative position. The Clinic Office Manager helps create a welcoming environment where every patient is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
About the Role
As Clinic Office Manager, you will serve as the central hub of clinic operations, supporting patients, volunteers, healthcare providers, and staff. You will help ensure that the clinic runs smoothly while maintaining a warm and professional atmosphere.
Responsibilities include:
Welcoming patients and answering phones
Scheduling appointments and managing patient records
Coordinating communication with patients, providers, and partner organizations
Supporting and scheduling front desk volunteers
Assisting with provider and volunteer scheduling
Maintaining office systems, records, and supplies
Supporting clinic meetings, events, and special projects
Working closely with clinical staff to ensure excellent patient care and follow-up
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
Enjoys helping people and building relationships
Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
Communicates clearly and professionally
Is comfortable working with volunteers and diverse populations
Maintains confidentiality and professionalism
Is comfortable with computers, email, and office software
Can adapt to changing needs and solve problems independently
Experience in healthcare, nonprofit organizations, customer service, or office administration is helpful but not required.
